New York Health Act (Single Payer) Statewide Survey Results

Once again there is discussion in Albany with regard to a single payer solution. This is certainly not a new discussion, however with senate, assembly and the governor all on one side of the aisle there is likely to be additional attention on this topic. The Business Council of NYS recently released information pertaining to a survey of more than 600 registered New York State voters regarding the proposed New York Health Act.

The survey results showed an overwhelming majority of New York State voters are satisfied with their current health insurance coverage with two-thirds saying, after learning more about the plan, they prefer to keep their existing coverage compared to the proposed New York Health Act.

The New York Business Council has advised the survey results will help with their advocacy against the proposal for a single payer, government-run health care system.
