Horizon to Add a Surcharge for Premium Payments Made With Credit Cards

During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), we changed how we accepted premium payments from our Small Group customers to allow the use of credit cards. With the PHE ending, effective with the June bill we will add a surcharge when a credit card is used to make a premium payment. The surcharge amount will be displayed on the payment screen.

Small Group Customers Still Have No-Cost Payment Options

We offer several no-cost, convenient and easy ways for your customers to pay their group’s premium. They can make a payment from their checking account when they:

  • Sign up for auto pay. When signed up, your customers will never miss a payment. Their premium payment will automatically be deducted from their checking account on the same day every month.
  • Sign in to their Horizon account to make a one-time payment.
  • Mail a check to PO BOX 10130, Newark, NJ 07101-3130.
  • Call our IVR 24/7 at 1-888-778-2005.

Your Small Group customers can also initiate a wire or Ebox payment through their group’s bank. However, their bank may charge a fee.
