Empire BCBS Small Group Transition to New Pharmacy Benefits Manager

Starting January 1, 2020, Empire pharmacy benefits will be managed by Ingenio Rx. To ensure a smooth transition, Empire will be providing notifications to Small Group policyholders with several mailings to introduce Ingenio Rx and provide information on any changes that will occur.
What to expect after the transition:
- Improvement in care coordination
- Closed coverage gaps
- Increased Medical Compliance
- Decreased cost of Medical care

Welcome Letter
This letter notes that benefits under Ingenio Rx will not change coverage in any way.
Specialty Prescription Mailing
A Pharmacy Care Team representative will be calling these members as well to review a care plan and answer questions. Empire will automatically transfer existing prescriptions and prior approvals to Ingenio Rx.
Specialty and Home Delivery Medications Mailing
A Pharmacy Care Team representative will be calling these members as well to review a care plan and answer questions. Empire will automatically transfer existing prescriptions and prior approvals to Ingenio Rx. In addition, members will receive instruction on how to refill a home delivery prescription, including a Q&A with frequently asked questions.
Home Delivery Medications Mailing
Empire will transfer any remaining refills to Ingenio Rx Home Delivery Pharmacy.
