UnitedHealthcare Renews Network Relationship with Stony Brook Medicine in New York
Posted on July 7, 2025
UnitedHealthcare and Stony Brook Medicine (Stony Brook) have reached a multi-year agreement that provides UnitedHealthcare’s members enrolled in the following plans continued, uninterrupted access to Stony Brook’s hospitals and providers in the Long Island region of New York, effective immediately:
- Employer-sponsored and individual commercial plans
- Oxford commercial plans
- Medicare Advantage plans, including Group Retiree and Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP)
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plans in New York (Medicaid)
People enrolled in the Empire Plan will also continue to have uninterrupted network access to Stony Brook’s hospitals and providers.
Our priority is to provide the people we serve access to the care they need from the doctors and care providers they know and trust, and this agreement accomplishes that goal.
Letters are being mailed to impacted members who were previously notified, informing them of the renewed relationship with Stony Brook, and that its facilities, hospitals and physicians remain in-network.
