UHC CT Carrier Exit Broker Bonus & Customer Incentives

UHC is offering special incentives to both brokers and customers (up to 50 eligible employees) who are losing coverage due to a carrier exiting the group health insurance market. These incentives will apply for effective dates from their 2025 non-renewal date through December 2025.

Important reminder: UHC can provide underwritten level funded quotes on groups with a prior group medical plan and at least 5 or more enrolling employees, using a member level census. Member level census includes legal first and last name, date of birth, gender, and home zip code. Individual applications with medical questions are only required for underwriting of groups with 2-4 enrolling employees or with no prior group medical plan. And if you want an electronic medical questionnaire option, consider using Benefitter for quoting and installation.

Process for quoting:
Two items are essential at the quoting stage within SAMx to ensure the incentives outlined above are captured:

  1. When quoting level funded for a current Cigna+Oscar group, use the Cigna+Oscar code 54312 or ConnectiCare FFS code 92377 in the Affiliation Code Section on the Company Profile Page
  2. Name “Cigna / Oscar” or “ConnectiCare FFS – level funded” as the prior carrier

Question: What if I have another affiliation code to enter?
Answer: In the Affiliation Code box, list all affiliation codes (Ex: “89350, 54312”)

Question: I’m experiencing an error in the system while using the new affiliation code box.
Answer: E-mail the Broker Engagement Team (BET) at broker.engagement.team@uhc.com with screenshots of the error and group info for assistance within SAMx and SAMx LF.
