The Medicare Part D Enrollment Process is Changing
As you begin receiving information about your Medicare Part D coverage for the upcoming year, you may notice changes to your plan, including changes in premiums, benefits, and prescription drug coverage.
We know that reviewing Medicare options can sometimes feel complicated, so we want to make sure you are aware of an important change to the Part D enrollment process and have the information you need well in advance of the upcoming Annual Enrollment Period.
Changes within the Medicare Part D marketplace have significantly limited the tools and resources previously available to independent brokers to assist clients directly with Part D plan comparisons and enrollments. As a result, we will no longer be able to process Part D enrollments on your behalf as we have in prior years.
What Does This Mean For You?
Medicare provides tools through Medicare.gov that allow you to review the Part D plans available in your area, compare premiums and prescription drug costs, and enroll in the plan that best meets your needs. Click Here for instructions to help guide you through that process. The 2027 plans will be available for quoting on Medicare.gov starting October 1, 2026.
We encourage you to review your Annual Notice of Change and your options carefully, particularly if you have experienced a significant premium increase or changes to your prescription coverage. Even if you are satisfied with your current plan, it is a good practice to confirm that your medications and preferred pharmacies will continue to be covered favorably in the coming year.
For individuals who would prefer personalized assistance completing the Part D comparison and enrollment process, there are also independent Medicare enrollment services available. Some of these organizations may charge a fee for their services. As licensed brokers, we are not permitted to charge our clients a separate fee for Part D enrollment assistance.
While the Part D enrollment process is changing, our commitment to being a resource for you has not. Our goal is to make sure you understand what is changing, know what steps to take, and have the resources necessary to make an informed decision about your coverage.
In addition, we understand that there will be significant premium adjustments to the Medicare Supplement plans for 2027. We remain committed to providing customer service and support for these plans.
