Empire is notifying Individual and Small Group subscribers of 2021 rate change requests

Empire HealthChoice Assurance, Inc. recently filed a request with the New York Department of Financial Services (DFS) to approve changes to its Small Group products and rates for 2021.

HealthPlus HP, LLC (Empire HealthPlus) also filed a request to approve changes to its Individual products and rates for 2021. Please be reminded that Empire HealthPlus is a New York HMO that does not contract with brokers for sales. You can assist subscribers in choosing these plans, but you won’t be linked as their broker in the Empire HealthPlus system.

We’re sending subscribers notices about the rate-change filing. Here are sample notices:

· Small Group: downstate, upstate, Healthy New York – downstate, Healthy New York – upstate

· Individual: downstate, upstate

We will notify those whose rates are affected of the approved changes before their next renewal. The final rates may differ from what Empire requested based on any modification by the DFS.
